Seriously, we could NOT get Madison to wear a hat last year. Even with the weekly blizzards that started on December 20th and didn't end until sometime late in January, even with day after day of below zero temperatures (very uncommon for Denver), she would not let us put a hat on her. I don't know when or why this changed, but all of a sudden this summer, all she wanted to do was wear a hat...any kind of hat whether it was a real hat or not...she just wanted something on her head. Last night as she was rummaging through the diaper drawer she pulled out this Pull Up and trying to put it on her head, walked around saying, "Hat, hat, hat." So I helped her put it on and after she got it on, she would not take it off. She even went to bed wearing this "hat."
Always one to join in the fun, especially where her sister is concerned, Madison convinced McKenzie to put on a "hat" too.
Today we're covered in snow, but it's been so warm, it's melting pretty quickly. And even though it was supposed to snow through early afternoon, I see the sun peeking out as we speak. McKenzie and I started cooking for the big Thanksgiving feast while Madison was down for a nap this morning. We haven't gotten very far, but we did get the sweet potatoes ready. Is this the smallest dish of sweet potatoes you've ever seen? I realized after I took the first picture, that it didn't really show how small this dish was, so I added the ruler to the shot...5x7...hope we don't have a mad rush on the sweet potatoes tomorrow.
And here's the bird...I'm desperately hoping this thing gets thawed out before tomorrow. I do this every single year. I put off shopping for the turkey until the Sunday before Thanksgiving, and then I drive myself crazy wondering if it's going to be completely thawed before I need to put it in the oven Thanksgiving morning. Honestly, I'm 40 years old, I should know this by now! But do you think I'll remember this next year? I highly doubt it!
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving...and please tell me your bird too is in the water as you desperately try to get it thawed out by tomorrow morning. Please tell me I'm not the only one!
